Contract Administrator
Duty Location(s):
Administers, up to the point of signature, a group of contracts that are primarily fixed-price or indefinite delivery types, including basic ordering agreements (BOAs) or contracts of a similar complexity that involve some special provisions (for example, progress payments, quantity options, Government-furnished property, revised production schedules and first article approval). Assists in the administration of cost-reimbursable and other more difficult types of contracts for which a higher-level employee has overall responsibility. Reviews new contracts assigned to assure all necessary clauses have been included, such as patents and royalties. Provides financial reporting, indicates inspection/acceptance points, and ensures payment clauses are complete and compatible. Reviews schedules, specifications, material requirements, and pertinent contractual clauses to determine administrative functions to be performed. Contacts the responsible buying organizations to resolve contract discrepancies such as missing or inconsistent provisions. Contacts contractors to clarify issues on contractual requirements. Participates in conferences with Government and buying-activity personnel, such as post-award conferences and meetings to resolve technical problems. Initiates required registers and suspense controls to monitor reporting requirements and funds status on contracts. Must have the ability to assist with the administration and support of extremely high dollar contracts (+$7B). Contract Level II Certification is required.
